NYE Cocktail Recipes
And for our last trick of 2020, we will become our own bartenders. New Year’s Eve, like everything else, will look a bit different this year. But, that doesn’t mean you have to skip the fancy dresses or drinks—just do it from home! Our recipe database will help you find the perfect cocktail to whip up just before midnight. Might we suggest: a pomegranate gin fizz, a sage grapefruit champagne cocktail, a fruity old fashioned, a cinnamon whisky sour, or a cranberry fix.
The Keeter Center’s Take-Home Treats
We’ve got you covered with the cocktail recipes, but what about the munchies to go along with it? The Keeter Center is packaging up some of their best goodies to take home for New Year’s Eve celebrations. Options include hors d'oeuvres like charcuterie boards, handmade meatballs and stuffed mushrooms as well as sweets. Make sure to order ahead so you don’t miss out.
NYE Around Town
The New Year’s celebrations may be sparse this year, but there are still a few to be enjoyed. Hotel Vandivort has several options for celebrating: a three course dinner at The Order, live music and a midnight toast in the Hotel Vandivort living room and igloos for reservation at Vantage Rooftop Lounge and Conservatory. If you’re looking for something a bit more calm, 4 by 4 Brewing Company will have New Year’s offerings starting at 1 p.m. and will later show the New York City ball drop on an outdoor projector. Progress is also offering a four course New Year’s Eve dinner. And, for those looking for a family-friendly option, Andy B’s Springfield is offering a family celebration pack that includes unlimited bowling, a one-topping pizza, party favors and more.

Holiday coffee treats tend to be most abundant in the September through December window which means that, sadly, the season is coming to a close. Hopefully you’ve gotten your fix of pumpkin spice lattes and peppermint mochas but, in case you haven’t, there’s still a tiny bit of time left. 417-land is filled with local, specialty coffee shops, so make sure you head to a few before your time is up. A few suggestions: a mint mocha from The Coffee Ethic, the eggnog cold brew at Kingdom Coffee, the gingerbread latte at Architect Coffee Co., the eggnog latte at Mudhouse Coffee or the peppermint latte from Keen Bean Coffee Roasters. Availability varies by store, but we suggest grabbing your favorite before the New Year just to be safe.
