Spencer Fane has offices in Missouri, Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas, but the firm did not have an office in Springfield until six partners came together to start one in June 2014.
The office lives in the entire third floor of Building B in Farmers Park. It consists of 12,300 square feet of offices, conference rooms and meeting places. The whole space is designed to move, with rooms converting to social centers and functional places for the firm to host events.
Spencer Fane traces its roots to 1879, when William Tell Johnson and John Lucas moved their legal practice from Osceola to Kansas City. The modern-day era for the firm began in 1952 when Johnson, Lucas, Graves & Fane merged with Spencer Britt & Browne to form the present day Spencer Fane Britt & Browne. Under the guidance of Byron Spencer, Irvin Fane, James Britt, and Harry Browne, the firm took a turn toward becoming one of the region’s best law firms.
While the firm has grown over the years, the original intention of the founding partners remains the same – to provide high quality, expert legal services with integrity and with the client’s individual needs in mind.
