What three words define your personal style?
Glam, current, refined.
Where do you find inspiration for your closet?
I’m fortunate to be surrounded by the most beautiful clothing, shoes and accessories. My co-workers, each with their individual style, and my incredible customers who seek the latest and greatest in contemporary womenswear, are also the inspiration for what I buy that collectively becomes my closet!
What is your favorite fashion trend right now?
Athleisure! Sports luxe has infiltrated the streets and the office. I adore track ensembles, suited blazers and jogger pants and sneakers paired with EVERYTHING. I love my heels, but no longer will fast, fashion-forward footwear options be limited to sky high platforms. Relaxed silhouettes and sexy flats are everything because comfort is in!
Who are your fashion role models?
Kathi Cryderman, owner of Harem & Company, best boss, and the most sophisticated and stylish woman ever. Tammy Kirks, my 417 Best Dressed predecessor, known for her edgy, suited pairings and a strong sneaker game. Mandy Hughes, Harem new-comer and accessories queen, who reminds me that more is more!
What person—public figure or private citizen—would make your best dressed list?
Supermodel and style maven Gigi Hadid. She’s continually on top of her fashion game; accepting of trends and defying style norms. She’s glamorous, daring, bold and not afraid to don an all-white suit in the winter.
What’s your signature piece?
Fur for day, fur for night and fur for all year! I’ll throw a fox collar on with a t-shirt, and feathers are my fur of the summer. Faux or real, it’s all fabulous!
If you could wear one brand or designer for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Norma Kamali. With 53 years in the business, she continually bridges innovation and style. Her washable, travel-friendly fabrications incorporate femininity and fluidity and are designed to take on the modern world. A section of my closet is dedicated solely to her tracksuits, jumpsuits and dresses!
What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever worn?
Muck boots and mud! I’ll jump on an opportunity to assist my husband on our cattle ranch, and this non-Harem ensemble would probably top my most embarrassing.
What are your favorite places to shop in 417-land?
Harem & Company. With 50 years in business, it’s been a pillar of fashion in our community and beyond!
What one item is on your wish list for this year?
Anything snake print. Sneakers, handbags, clothing...I can’t get enough!
